Some people are gluten intolerant and can eat certain things that are made in same kitchen as wheat so perhaps you could consider this.
Also what excuse do they have for not doing caffeine free coffee, there are a lot of people who now only drink caffeine free drinks.

I have celiac disease and have eaten McDonald’s French Fries in restaurants in the United States where I live. I have never gotten sick from eating McDonald’s French Fries. I was surprised to learn that McDonald’s French Fries contain wheat. But I did read that a test was done which found no gluten in the fries. I think McDonald’s in the US just state that the fries have gluten because they don’t want a lawsuit. Some people with celiac disease are more sensitive to gluten than others. So please don’t think this means that McDonald’s French Fries are gluten free and ok for anyone with celiac disease to eat.

I have recently been diagnosed as WHEAT intolerant even after a blood test for Ceoliac Disease. My Doctor said that the test does not cover everything. I had been suffering with BLOATING for a few years and could not understand why I what was causing it.
I now visit the "FREE FROM" section of my local supermarkets and I have found that Morrisons (Berwick upon Tweed) sell gluten free chipolatas that taste just the same as normal ones. Give them a try you'll love them. I find that the other sausages, from all the supermarkets, are a bit messy to cook and taste a little different. Hope this helps someone.

At present living in France, yesterday I made some Snickerdoodle cookies from a Udi's Sponge Cake mix which I had left from when my coeliac daughter-in-law came to stay. I made them for some friends including one Dutch lady who requested gluten free. She enjoyed them very much as did a number of others and I was asked for the recipe!
I can't remember where I bought the packet, which was produced by a factory in Hawarden, Flintshire, North Wales, could have been from a UK supermarket but I did buy a load of stuff for my daughter-in-law from shops locally here in France. I live in Payzac, which is in north east Dordogne within reach off Brive, Limoges and Perigueux

been gluten free for 13years. never stop learning about it. one thing no one seems to realise is if you are ceoliac you are also sensitive to sugar in a hypoglycemic way. Have tried telling the main supermarkets as their gluten free biscuits are loaded with sugar sometimesup to 15teaspoons per biscuit. you cant take away the gluten and replace it with sugar we will all end up fully diabetic!

This is untrue. I have worked in McDonald's for years and I have seen fry vats used for onion rings when they are out AND veggie burgers daily!!
I have only recently been diagnosed as coeliac so never thought anything of it until now as I'm sure most staff there don't. Cross contamination for vegetarians is considered but gluten was never mentioned

Thank you for this. It is a handy little reminder list to pass to people to avoid repeated questions.

Helen R: It is good that Natco replied to you and it is as I suspected. This is obviously several years since they replied to you; however, the description of their Natco fine corn meal on various supermatket websites always stresses that corn meal is "naturally free from gluten". Not a word of warning about the possibility of cross-contamination due to manufacturing methods.

Well, this past weekend I made two delicious cornbread loaves using their fine corn meal was severely glutened. I am currently undergoing intensive treatment for the excrutiating rash which has spread all over my body, among other symptoms. I have had to give this one away, plus the bread. Cleared the kitchen of anything with the name Natco on it!
